About Historic Springfield Events
What is HSE?
Historic Springfield Events mission is to create awareness and community of the Downtown Springfield Historic Square, by hosting community events that will benefit and aid in the beautification of our downtown Square.
Contributions

Downtown Bike Racks
With the proceeds from the events we were able to purchase two bike racks from local metal fabricator Maker Table. These are a great addition to our growing downtown area.

Central Bark Dog Park
Assisted in fundraising for our new local dog park. We were able to raise enough to purchase all benches, trash cans, clean-up stations, and personalize it with engraved bricks with personalized messages from residents.

Jail Alley Restoration
Restored a historical area of downtown nicknamed Jail Alley where the prisoners used to be led from the old jail to the courthouse. A local metal fabricator, Maker Table, designed and made a new interactive gate for the alley.

Banners & Christmas Lights
The group purchased banners from Molly B designed by local artist Alicia Maynard for the light posts in and around the square. Christmas snowflakes and hanging lights were purchased from local company, Christmas Done Bright which just added to the beauty of downtown around the holidays.
